President Joe Biden slammed Georgia governor Brian Kemp’s election integrity legislation, which was signed into law on Thursday.
“Do you have any comments, Mr. President, on the latest Georgia election law?” a reporter inquired.
“Can you hear it again?” Biden enquired.
The reporter inquired once more about the proposed Georgia election law.
Biden replied, “It’s an atrocity.” “The idea — if you want any evidence that it has nothing to do with justice, nothing to do with dignity, they passed a law banning the distribution of water to people standing in line to vote. You don’t need anything else to figure out that this is nothing more than a draconian design aimed at preventing people from voting.
“And, Mr. President, what are you going to do about it?” Biden had already turned his back to walk away when the reporter baited him.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed an election integrity law on Thursday that “shortens the time voters have to request absentee ballots; introduces new identification requirements; makes it easier for state officials to take over local elections boards; limits the use of ballot drop boxes; requires challenges to voting eligibility; and [r]eplaces the elected secretary of state as the chair of the state board of elections.” It would also make it illegal for people to touch others in a voting line, except to “sell water.”

Park Cannon, a Georgia Democrat, was so upset that she tried to storm the governor’s signing ceremony, but was seized by state police. Senator Ralph Warnock, who is running for re-election in 2022, also criticized the Georgia rule.
Senator Warnock said on Friday, “Well, there are big issues with what was passed last night.” “What they were attempting to pass, as bad as it was, was much worse. If the Georgia legislature, which is stacked with legislators, doesn’t like the results of an election, S.B. 202 would allow for a hostile takeover of local election boards. It’s a form of anti-democracy. It’s unpatriotic.”
Senator Warnock said, “They are attempting to make it more difficult for people to vote rather than making it easier for people to vote.” “We saw how important it is to vote by mail. Working families, on the other hand, need opportunities to exercise their franchise. And it became even more crucial in the midst of this pandemic, which we are still dealing with. Besides, Georgians have been voting in this manner for years. Is this now suddenly a problem? They don’t like the result, so instead of changing their message, they’re attempting to change the rules.”
The turnout in the 2020 elections was the largest in modern US election history.
It was also one of the most contentious in US history. According to the Democratic Party’s reaction, having as many people vote as possible is strategically beneficial since there is no practical way of verifying voters’ state residency or identities. As a result, Democrats decry even testing to see whether an elector is 18 years old, an American citizen, and has a state citizenship as an arbitrary “restriction” on U.S. elections.
