A COVID-19 outbreak has forced the closure of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to the Associated Press, Mar-a-Lago has “partially closed” and quarantined some of its employees out of “an abundance of caution.”
The Associated Press reported that “service had been temporarily suspended in the club’s dining room and at its beach club due to some staff members having recently tested positive,” according to an email sent to members. The report continued, “It said the club had taken “all appropriate response measures,” including “sanitizing affected areas.” “The banquet and event services will continue to be available,” it added.
Donald Trump went to Mar-a-Lago after departing the White House. The former president has spent his time in the state meeting with prospective presidential candidates and Republican leaders for the year 2022.
In the fall, the 74-year-old fought off a COVID-19 infection and got his vaccine. As a result, it’s safe to assume he’s immune to the virus.

In a Fox News interview on Tuesday, Donald Trump also endorsed getting vaccinated.
“So, Mr. President, I know you got the vaccine, and Mrs. Trump got the vaccine as well; would you recommend the vaccine to our audience?” Maria Bartiromo had inquired.
Trump responded, “I would.” “I think it’s a good idea. And I’d recommend it to a lot of people who are hesitant to purchase it. And, to be honest, a lot of those people voted for me. But, as previously stated, we have our liberties. That is something we all live by. That’s something I agree with as well.”
Last year, Donald Trump was first exposed to COVID as a result of his meeting with a Brazilian official at Mar-a-Lago. At a family birthday party, the official posed for a picture next to Donald Trump.
While COVID outbreaks have occurred at Mar-a-Lago, they have also occurred at migrant detention centers along the southern border. On Friday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that 10% of migrants at the Midland and Carrizo Springs detention centers tested positive for COVID-19.
